Even though the Dornbirn Indians got relegated last fall, the Austrian Baseball club isn’t shy of acquiring experienced foreign players. On Tuesday the second-division team announced that Danny Hall will serve as new head coach in the upcoming season. The Indians already had signed the Canadian corner infielder/outfielder and former Minor Leaguer Devery van de Keere two weeks ago.
The 27-year-old Hall was born in San Lorenzo, California and attended Chabot Community College and Mississippi Valley State University. He later played one year for the Independent League club Melville Millionaires of the Western Major League. Most recently he worked as an assistant coach at the California State University. The left-hander also is going to be a pitcher for Dornbirn.
