The FC Barcelona introduced Pau Sancho (right) and Jose Luis Riera (left) as new players for the 2011 season in the Division de Honor on Sunday.
Pau Sancho is a 22-year-old utility man, who already had played for the FC Barcelona in the past. In the 2010 season he was a member of the Astros Valencia, but didn’t take the field in the Division de Honor. He also spent two years at the Rogers State University in San Diego.
Jose Luis Riera is a 36-year-old first baseman, who has spent already seven seasons in the Division de Honor. In the past three years he wore the jersey of CB Sant Boi, winning the championship after batting .346 (OBP .426/SLG .600) with six homeruns, 32 runs and 45 RBI in 36 games. He is also a member of the Spanish national team.
The FC Barcelona also is going to present a new catcher in the next couple of days after Orlando Diaz is not coming back. Diaz batted a team-leading .402 (OBP .486/SLG .574) with 15 extra base hits, 30 runs and 40 RBI in 35 appearances this season.
