The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg have won the 2011 German Baseball Championship. They defeated the Untouchables Paderborn 5-1 in the decisive fifth game of the final series on Saturday in front of 2,630 spectators at the Armin Wolf Arena in Regensburg. With the victory they completed successfully to come back from a 0-2 deficit in the best-of-five series.
Mike Bolsenbroek (REG) and Eugen Heilmann (PAD) set the tone for the first six innings, as the lone run scored on a RBI single by Ludwig Glaser in the third. Regensburg added four more runs against the bullpen of the northern champion and sealed the deal for their third title in the last four years.
