Last year’s pitching coach, Justin Prinstein will be back for the 2012 season as new head coach of the Hungarian national team. He will take over the position from Ingo Gottwald, who resigned after four year work. Prinstein will arrive in Hungary on Saturday and he and his team can expect a busy program for the long weekend. On Monday, 30th April, 10:00 there will be a national team tryout and training in Szentendre. Players who played in Barcelona at the European Baseball Championship Qualifier tournament have been invited, and the tryout is open for everyone who is at least 17 year old. A few veteran players from last year team have decided to retire from the national team, so there is the opportunity that prospective young players have to get a spot in the Hungarian National Team. The Under 21 and the senior baseball team will practice together in the program.
The 2012 Danube Cup is going to be played in Wien, Austria on 1th May. The baseball national teams of Slovakia, Austria and Hungary will meet on Tuesday for their annual series. Slovakia won the 2011 Danube Cup.
