The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) has announced a preliminary roster for the Premier 12. The Dutch National Team, which is currently in a training camp in Curacao, has put 35 players on the roster, which needs to be trimmed before the tournament next month.
The team features former Major Leaguers Wladimir Balentien, Roger Bernadina, Jair Jurrjens, Shairon Martis and Andruw Jones. As 40-man roster players are not allowed to play in the Premier 12, the Dutch National Team is missing Didi Gregorius, Andrelton Simmons and Jonathan Schoop among others.
Also absent is Rick van den Hurk, who is currently playing in the playoffs of Nippon Professional Baseball even though Japan’s top players will participate and the Premier 12 will be held in Taiwan and Japan.
The team will depart for Taiwan on October 30.
