The Solingen Alligators announced on Sunday that Ron Frazier is taking over as head coach of the German Baseball-Bundesliga club. The 51-year-old American is succeeding Norman Eberhardt, who led Solingen to their second German championship in 2014. Last season they were eliminated by the Buchbinder Legionaere in the semi-finals.
Frazier has been coaching baseball since 1990. He is well known in European Baseball, having won the Croatian championship with Nada SSM Split in 2014 and coaching Technika Brno in the Czech Extraleague last year. He is scheduled to arrive in Solingen in March and is also going to take care of the youth training of the club. Since 2010 he also has been a scout for the Philadelphia Phillies.
