Chris Dresel isn’t returning as head coach of the Haar Disciples after all. The club from the southern suburbs in Munich announced on Monday that he has to withdraw due to work-related reasons. The 38-year-old American Keith Maxwell will take over instead. He played for the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe in 2008 and knows the German Baseball-Bundesliga since then. He played baseball in North America, Australia and Europe for 12 years and is now working as a coach, instructor and fitness trainer in Florida. Additionally he is a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals. Dresel was supposed to return to the Disciples, where he already worked as head coach from 2009 to 2011. He would have succeeded Dirk Fries, who has moved to Frankfurt because of work.
