The Czech Republic opened the Tenerife Baseball Week, which is a four game exhibition series between Czech Republic and Spain, on Monday with an 11-7 victory over Spain. The Czech scored in each frame between the second and the fifth en route to a quick 11-0 lead. Spain scored seven runs in the last two innings to close the gap a little bit.
Martin Cervinka and Jakub Hajtmar homered and drove in a combined six runs for the Czech team. Edison Valerio, Daniel Jimenez and Daniel Mondejar hit home runs for Spain. Marek Minarik pitched four scoreless innings for the win. Livan Delgado got charged with the loss.
