Czechia’s Marek Chlup won the NCAA Divison II national championship with the North Greenville Crusaders on Friday, Jun 11, in Cary, NC, after defeating Point Loma Nazarene University, 5-3, in the championship game.
Chlup drove in one run and went 1-for-4 against Point Loma, capping off a 2022 season in which he slashed .390/.488/.662 and led the Crusaders in numerous offensive categories.
The Crusaders won all four of their games at the NCAA Division II College World Series, with Chlup going a combined 3-for-14, with three RBI and three runs scored, in the four games.
On the season, the outfielder started and played in all 62 North Greenville games, with 12 homers and 75 RBI. The redshirt junior led the team in numerous offensive categories, including hits, doubles and triples, and he also led the team in stolen bases, with 30 steals in 33 attempts.
