Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz – Halcones de Vigo 6-3, 5-0
The TENERIFE MARLINS defended their title in Spanish Baseball with a sweep over HALCONES DE VIGO last weekend. They remain four games up in the standings over the FC BARCELONA with four games to go. But due to the two ruled 9-0 wins against BARCA at home, the Catalonian team cannot take over first place, even if the MARLINS would lose each of the last four games of the season. It is the fifth straight championship for PUERTO CRUZ and the sixth in a row for the team from Tenerife. CB SANT BOI in 2003 was the last team to capture the championship for a club from the main land.
