The Solingen Alligators have signed 30-year-old former Major Leaguer Lars Eric Anderson to play the 2018 season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. With the Boston Red Sox the first baseman / outfielder appeared in 30 games in the big leagues between 2010 and 2012.
He remained in the affiliated minor league system through 2016, also playing in the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations. Solingen’s manager Wayne Ough met Anderson playing for the Sydney Blue Sox. Anderson is expected to arrive in early May.
Wow, there’s a name I haven’t heard in forever. I remember back when he was a well-touted prospect for the Red Sox.
