The reigning Swiss champion Therwil Flyers has signed the 27-year-old catcher John Bullock Tucker for the upcoming season. He was born in Black Foot, Idaho, but now lives in Bradenton, Florida. He visited the Universities Mississippi State and Wake Forest before signing with the Seattle Mariners organization as an undrafted amateur free agent in 2005.
Tucker stayed with the Mariners until spring 2007, reaching Single-A advanced. He moved on to the Independent League circuit, where he played the last three years, the last two with Grand Prairie in the American Association. In 2009 he had a .257 batting average (OBP .318/SLG .371) with five homeruns, 48 runs scored and 45 RBI in 95 games.
