Spain evened the four-game exhibition series against the Czech Republic with a lopsided 16-3 blowout on Tuesday evening during the Tenerife Baseball Week. Nine runs in the third and six in the fifth blew the game wide open. The Czech team had prevailed 11-7 on Monday in the opener.
Daniel Jimenez connected for two home runs and six RBI to lead the Spanish offense. Daniel Moreno scored a whopping six runs. Jakub Kubica and Martin Cervinka went deep for the Czech Republic. Francisco Gonzalez threw three scoreless innings to start for Spain. Jose Martin inherited the win in relief. Filip Capka got charged with the loss.
